Protecting Our Teachers, One Policy at A Time

back-to-school-183533_640Teachers do a lot for their students, often behind the scenes. They dedicate countless hours and personal resources into their classrooms, doing their best to ensure that their students not only master the content required, but also leave their class at the end of the year with a renewed love of learning and thirst for knowledge. If you think about it though, by pouring so much into our kids, they are really pouring into our community as a whole. These kids make up the families who make up our city, and they will be future leaders, business owners, and consumers not just here, but wherever like may take them. Unfortunately while teachers do SO much for us, we don’t do a great job as a society of making sure they’re taken care of in the same committed and diligent manner.

While most schools offer benefits packages for teachers, the policies don’t always cover everything you might need. Teachers are often a significant, or even the sole, provider in their home, and if something happens to them and renders them unable to work, their families could suffer from inadequate coverage. Disability policies that are tagged onto your generic benefits package can sometimes have limitations. What’s more, health coverage for children and/or spouses usually costs more, rolled into your monthly premium, and it might not be as comprehensive as you’d expect regarding health insurance. Unfortunately, many teachers don’t realize they have options, and simply pay whatever is asked. That’s why Caroll Marshall Insurance is here to help.

We firmly believe that ALL teachers should be provided for in the best way possible, Disability coverage, at its fullest, not only helps with your care and personal recovery, but it often provides at least a portion of your lost income until you’re able to work again, or offers long-term benefits for those who are left unable to ever work in the same capacity again. These benefits help put food on the table, and keep up with other household expenses that could easily overwhelm a teacher and his/her family if they didn’t have the disability coverage. We know that many educators work on a tight budget in their household, and don’t feel like they can afford these additional policies, but most are surprised when they see the low monthly premiums we’re able to find for them. Additionally, health coverage for family members can be analyzed by us here in the office, and if it’s not adequate for your family’s current needs, or the premiums seem to high, we can research other options from third-party providers and assist in price comparisons to make sure you’re getting the best coverage for the best bottom-line price.

Make an appointment or stop by our Winter Haven office so we can sit down with you and go over the details of your existing coverage. If you find that you need additional provision, we’ll work with you to find a policy that not only meets your needs, but also fits into your budget so you don’t have to worry about your finances while still making sure your family is protected.

Good luck to all of our Polk County teachers this school year as you head back into the classrooms. We appreciate all you do for our local children, and for us!
